2011 Subaru Forester Review
You can buy the Subaru Forester with one of two engines, and these help designate the specific model. There is the 2.5 X which has a 2.5 L four-cylinder engine and up to 170 hp. There is also the 2.5 XT, and this is a turbocharged option of the previous engine, but it has 224 hp. Critics claim that both engines are adequate, but they particularly liked the added torque and power of the turbocharged model.
2011 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT
The 2.5 X model comes available with manual or automatic transmission. The 2.5 XT, on the other hand, only comes available in automatic transmission. The 2.5 X gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2.5 XDS, on the other hand, gets 19 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
When compared to competitors, critics didn’t appreciate the Forester’s fit and finish as much. But they did feel that it had comfortable seats and a roomy cabin. This vehicle has some incredible features as well.
They are: four speaker CD stereo with auxiliary input Jack, USB port, leather upholstery and seating, Tom Tom navigation system, panoramic sunroof, satellite radio, Bluetooth and a reverse camera.
Finally, this vehicle has excellent cargo capacity. It holds up to 68.3 ft.³ of cargo when the rear seats are folded down. This is excellent capacity for this particular class.
Other Compact SUVs for Your Consideration
2011 Honda CR-V: The CR-V is a wonderful option because of its spacious interior. It also won an award as the 2011 Best Affordable Compact SUV for Families. Not only that, it has excellent cargo capacity and it’s a smooth and comfortable ride. Plus the reliability rating is off to chart.
2011 Toyota RAV4: The RAV4 is an excellent compact SUV that offers a third row of seats. This is a fine option for those in need of the extra seating room. It has a powerful V-6 engine which many competitors lack. It’s definitely a great choice for those in the market for a compact sport-utility vehicle.
