Important Notice: Employment Scams Using the CarEdge Name

Unfortunately, we’ve been made aware of fraudulent schemes where bad actors falsely claim to represent CarEdge in order to scam job seekers. These scams are not affiliated with CarEdge in any way. They are designed to steal personal information or money by exploiting our brand and the trust we’ve built with our community. We take this extremely seriously and want to help protect anyone exploring opportunities with us.

What’s Happening

Scammers are impersonating CarEdge employees and offering fake job opportunities via:
  • Email
  • Text message
  • Messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, etc.)
  • Fake websites or job postings
They may claim to be hiring urgently, promise high pay for minimal work, or request personal or financial information early in the process.

What CarEdge Will Never Do

To be absolutely clear, CarEdge will never:
  • Ask for your Social Security number, bank information, or payment upfront
  • Request that you purchase equipment, gift cards, or software as part of hiring
  • Conduct interviews exclusively via text or messaging apps
  • Ask you to deposit checks or move money on our behalf
  • Pressure you to act immediately or threaten that an offer will expire
  • Communicate from non-company email addresses (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo)
If any of the above happens, it is a scam.

How CarEdge Actually Hires

All legitimate CarEdge hiring follows these rules:
  • Communication comes from a @caredge.com email address
  • Job postings are listed on our official website or trusted platforms
  • Interviews involve real conversations (video or phone) with identifiable team members
  • We never ask for sensitive personal information until after a formal offer is accepted, and only through secure systems
If something feels off, trust your instincts.

What to Do If You’ve Been Contacted

If you believe someone has contacted you fraudulently while pretending to represent CarEdge:
  1. Do not respond or share any personal information
  2. Take screenshots and save emails or messages
  3. Report the incident to:
    • The platform where the message occurred
    • Your local authorities if financial harm occurred
  4. Email us at [email protected] so we can track and report abuse
While we cannot recover losses caused by third-party scams, we actively report impersonation and work to shut these schemes down.

Our Commitment

CarEdge exists to help people make smarter, safer financial decisions and that includes protecting job seekers from fraud. We’re continuing to take steps to:
  • Monitor impersonation attempts
  • Report fraudulent domains and accounts
  • Educate the public on how to spot scams using our name
If you’re ever unsure whether a communication is legitimate, we encourage you to verify it directly with us.
