Negotiation Definition: We track negotiations by grouping multiple quotes for the same VIN (vehicle identification number). When a buyer receives 2+ quotes for the same vehicle, we consider that an AI-assisted negotiation.
Savings Calculation: Savings = highest quoted price - final quoted price within a negotiation group. This captures the total price reduction achieved through negotiation.
Time Saved: We estimate 1 hour per negotiation round based on typical manual negotiation time (composing emails, waiting for responses, strategizing). Conservative estimate.
Data Validity: Only includes quotes with valid OTD prices ($0-$500k) and reasonable doc fees (<$5k). Same filters used across all transparency reports.
