Why should I use CarEdge Concierge instead of buying a car myself?

Buying a car, whether new or used through a dealership can be stressful and time-consuming. Most people buy or lease a car every 3 to 5 years, while dealership sales people sell 3 to 5 cars per day! Our team of experts have extensive auto industry experience and help thousands of customers buy cars each year. Your concierge finds the car you want, negotiates on your behalf, and keeps you fully informed every step of the way. You’ll save time, avoid dealer pressure, and have confidence that you’re getting a fair price.

How does the Concierge process work?

Tell us about the vehicle you’re looking for (new or used, make, model, features, and budget). From there you’ll get paired with a Concierge for an initial consultation call (or chat). After that, you will be prompted to pay the $999 fee for the Concierge service. Then your Concierge searches dealer inventories, negotiates the best price and terms, and coordinates inspection, paperwork, and delivery — ensuring a seamless, end-to-end experience for you. Your Concierge will support you with your trade-in, financing, and more.

How much will you save me?

Savings vary by vehicle, dealer, and market conditions. While we can’t guarantee an exact amount, our team consistently works to secure the most competitive price possible by contacting multiple dealers on your behalf. What can I expect after signing up?

You’ll be paired with a dedicated Concierge and you will receive an email shortly after signing up to schedule an intro call with your concierge if you did not have one before signing up. Expect this intro call to review your goals, followed by regular updates via email and text as they locate vehicles and negotiate deals on your behalf.

How long does it take to complete the purchase?

Most purchases are completed within 7–10 days once your preferences are confirmed. Specialty or used vehicles, or those with specific colors or features, may take longer — your Concierge will keep you updated throughout. If you need a purchase completed faster you are encouraged to discuss that with your Concierge before signing up to confirm we will be able to assist you.

 

How does the trade-in process work?

Your Concierge will evaluate your trade-in value, gather quotes, and maximize your trade-in value in conjunction with your new purchase. You’ll get expert guidance on whether it’s better to trade at a dealer or sell privately, with our team managing negotiations on your behalf.

How does CarEdge help with financing or leasing?

We guide you through the financing process and to help you secure the best loan or lease terms. Our team focuses on lowering fees, maximizing incentives, and finding payment options that fit your budget.

How much does shipping cost?

We’ll work to locate a vehicle as close to your area as possible. If we are unable to locate a vehicle within your immediate area, we will help you to coordinate shipping to your door. The average cost for vehicle transport is ~$1.30 per mile. Actual shipping costs will vary based on the vehicle type, distance, and carrier availability.

What if I don’t like the results of the Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) on a used vehicle?

If the inspection reveals issues you’re uncomfortable with, your Concierge will continue searching for another vehicle or use the results of the PPI to negotiate a better deal. Our goal is to ensure you end up with a car you love and trust. Your Concierge will coordinate a pre-purchase inspection on your behalf.

How do you get paid?

We never accept payments or kickbacks from dealers, so our loyalty is entirely to you. We work to help you buy a car, not help the dealer sell one.

Who founded CarEdge?

CarEdge was founded by father and son duo Ray and Zach Shefska. What began as a YouTube channel helping people understand the car-buying process grew into a full platform dedicated to empowering consumers through data, tools, and real human expertise.

CarEdge is fully independent and has no investors that are car dealers or manufacturers. Our only priority is helping consumers make informed, confident decisions.

Most car shopping websites exist to sell leads to dealerships. CarEdge exists to serve you, the consumer. We focus on education, transparency, and data-backed guidance. We do not have dealer clients paying us monthly subscription fees or paying us to bring them deals. Our business model is to serve consumers, not the automotive industry.

Is CarEdge free to use?

Yes. Most of our resources, guides, and community features are completely free. We also offer premium tools and services for members who want personalized support throughout their car-buying or ownership journey.
