How CarEdge makes money

We take no compensation from car dealerships, repair shops or automotive manufacturers. We make money from our car buying services, finance and insurance products, and memberships.

Transparency statement

Many online automotive research and vehicle search businesses claim to be “customer-centric” and in support of car buyers. However, these same businesses make money by selling your information to car dealerships as “leads.” CarEdge doesn’t do this.

The business model of “looking like the good guy” and then selling your information perpetuates the unfair and inefficient practices that plague the auto industry.

We want you understand how CarEdge makes money so we can earn your trust in our mission to break down information asymmetry and evolve the industry.

Why we started CarEdge

CarEdge was founded in 2020 by father-son duo Ray and Zach Shefska. With Ray’s 43 years of dealership experience, and Zach’s insatiable appetite to question the status quo, CarEdge was born to make buying, owning, and selling a car more efficient and fair for everyone involved.
