Agent Product Manager

About the role

We're hiring a Product Manager to own the AI agent that powers consumer-side fulfillment and mystery shopping for dealer groups, OEMs, and our own Certified program. The agent generates proprietary data on how dealers actually behave towards buyers, and CarEdge will use that information to power our Dealer Transparency Index as well as our consumer premium products.

You'll own the product roadmap for the agent. This includes driving CarEdge toward fully AI-led Concierge and Negotiator fulfillment by the end of H2 without sacrificing consumer experience, as well as building a scalable, repeatable mystery shop product that works every time for two distinct customer bases at once: external buyers (dealer groups and OEMs purchasing mystery shopping as a service) and internal users (the DTI team using mystery shop to verify that Certified dealers continue to meet program standards). You'll report into the Senior Product Manager and work in lockstep with Agent engineering, the Fulfillment Manager, the AI QA Specialists, the DTI team, the affinity team, and Consumer Product.

What you'll own

  • The agent product roadmap. What the agent learns to do next. Which deal types it handles end-to-end. Where humans stay in the loop and where they step out. You sequence the work and make sure each capability ships with the quality bar the consumer business demands.
  • The agent quality bar. Working with the AI QA Specialists and the Fulfillment Manager, you define what great looks like and deliver it.
  • The mystery shop product. Methodology, tooling, vendor and shopper coordination, reporting, data infrastructure, and customer-facing deliverables. You own how mystery shop works as a product, end to end.
  • Scalability and reliability of mystery shop. The affinity team will be selling this to dealer groups and OEMs who expect a product that works every time, scales across geographies, and delivers clean, defensible reports. Today the program is operationally heavy, so you partner with Engineering and Operations to find leverage through tooling, automated analysis of shop transcripts, smarter sampling, and tighter vendor coordination.
  • Coordination with the affinity team. The affinity team owns the sales and commercial relationships for mystery shop. You own product delivery. That means tight communication on what's being sold, what's being promised, and where the product can and can't stretch.
  • The data flow from agent and mystery shop into DTI. Every agent interaction with a dealer and every mystery shop visit generates signal. You partner with the DTI Data Analyst to make sure this signal feeds DTI scoring in a way that's defensible and durable.
  • Certified program compliance. Mystery shop is the mechanism that ensures Certified dealers continue to meet our program standards after they sign on. You partner with DTI and Dealer AM on the operational rhythm: how often dealers are shopped, what triggers a re-shop, and how compliance issues are flagged and handled.
  • Fulfillment cost reduction. Concierge fulfillment cost is the largest direct cost line in the consumer model and the single highest-leverage margin lever in the business. The agent is the lever, and you partner with the Fulfillment Manager on the ramp.

Who you are

  • 4-7 years of product management experience, including time on agentic products.
  • Comfortable shipping products for external customers. Mystery shop will be sold to dealer groups and OEMs who treat it as a vendor product they're paying for. You understand SLAs, customer reporting, and the difference between a product that works internally and one that holds up in front of a paying customer.
  • Strong partner to a sales motion you don't own. You'll work closely with the affinity team but you won't be selling the product. You know how to be the most useful product partner a sales team has ever had: clear about what the product can do, honest about what it can't, and quick to fix what breaks.
  • Data fluency. You can think rigorously about how to measure agent quality, how to design mystery shop sampling, and how to defend the methodology when it's challenged by a paying customer or a dealer.
  • Operationally minded. Mystery shop is half product, half operations. You're as comfortable improving a vendor process as you are writing a product spec.
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus, not a requirement. What matters more is your ability to learn the auto deal mechanics quickly and your track record of shipping AI products that actually work.
