The FTC flagged 203 car dealers for deceptive pricing.

We parsed every warning letter the FTC published for auto-dealer deceptive pricing. Group letters name their specific rooftops in the letter's cc: list; single-store letters carry the dealership's mailing address. We expanded all of them into 203 individually-named dealerships.

We then matched each dealership to the CarEdge Dealer Transparency Index using the dealer's name, brand, and location. Matching is deliberately conservative: a dealership only shows a grade when we could confidently resolve it to a single CarEdge-graded store. 104 flagged dealerships are shown without a grade, either they're not in our index or the match wasn't certain enough to publish.

An FTC warning letter describes conduct the agency identified and warns the recipient to comply with the law. It is not a final determination of liability. CarEdge grades reflect verified out-the-door pricing data and are updated as new quotes are collected.
